As the beautiful autumn season begins, let's talk about vegetables, mashed potatoes and soup . Take advantage of the blessed period of dietary diversification during which children love to eat vegetables - and do so all the more so because studies show that the earlier a child is introduced to vegetables, the greater the chance that he or she will love them later on. Of course, this is not a guarantee, but it is an extra chance.
There is only a question of texture and dilution between vegetable purée and soup. The child likes purée and you can take advantage of this by offering him purées of different colours and tastes. In addition to the classic green bean purée, you can also offer carrot and parsnip, potato and beetroot, pumpkin, broccoli, cauliflower, watercress and parsnip, celery, pumpkin and chestnut purées... Vegetable purée has the advantage of being easy to digest because the fibres of the vegetables have been crushed - while providing the child with the vitamins, minerals, trace elements and antioxidants of the vegetables it contains.
You can offer it at lunchtime with a little meat, fish or egg (from 6 months onwards) but also in the evening, in which case without protein sources.
A LITTLE ADVICE
For the youngest, if baby has not eaten enough, or lacks calories, he will ask for more. It is often a simple lack of energy during the day (during insufficient or unbalanced food diversification) that can explain why baby wakes up in the night. Young children also have much higher fat (lipid) requirements than carbohydrate requirements. Systematically adding fat to baby food, whether homemade or industrial, is a possible solution!
