At the beginning of this year, we would like to share with you a piece of news that makes us particularly happy.
We are honoured to support the AFAO for a cause that is close to our hearts: oesophageal atresia.
Oesophageal atresia is a disease present from birth. It is an interruption of the oesophagus: the oesophagus has two cul-de-sacs separated by a more or less large gap, depending on the type of atresia. As a result, swallowed food cannot be transported from the mouth to the stomach. Swallowed milk or even saliva collects in the upper cul de sac and returns to the mouth. Many children with oesophageal atresia subsequently develop eating disorders.
Why support this particular cause?
If we decided to support this cause, it is above all because many of you (mothers, speech therapists, health professionals, etc.) take care of babies with this malformation. When we listened to your feedback, many of you told us that you had managed to make everyday life less difficult thanks to Ma Petite Assiette's products, which touched us enormously. This is why, when the French Association of Oesophageal Atresia contacted us to support them, it was obvious that we were going to say a huge YES.
We think that this disease is still too little known and today, we thank the AFAO for all the work done to help as many children and people as possible suffering from this disease. We will do everything we can to advance research and to help the families affected.
